General

This home is a study in attention to detail. It was built and decorated with the finest materials available. All of the doors, ceilings, window surrounds, custom built cabinetry and moldings are solid plantation grown teak. The pocket doors open up to give you a true indoor/outdoor living experience that is available in very few places any time of the year. The floors are Italian cast stone. All appliances are high end Bosch including a dual fuel range with gas cook top and electric oven. The extensive collection of kitchenware is from Williams Sonoma. The Great Room is just steps from your own pool that features Spanish glass tile. The covered BBQ patio, with its Vermont Casting gas grill, has been doubled in size for comfortable outdoor dining. Other outdoor features include a teak bar with stools, garden fountain, extensive landscaping, a 100 year old Guanacaste tree (the National tree) , extensive outdoor teak furnishings with umbrellas and complete privacy. The Great Room has an extensive entertainment system complete with a flat screen TV and wireless high speed internet. There are volume controls in each room. The master bedroom has another flat screen TV and second DVD player. The home is located on the gated and guarded Point property with private internal access to both the Tamarindo and Langosta beaches in less than 4 minutes. It is a 7 minute walk to the Langosta Beach Club. You have full membership at the Langosta Beach Club during your stay. The Club features a full gym, exercise studio, large infinity edge pool overlooking the warm Pacific, private cabanas, chases and umbrellas on the beach, a tropical French restaurant and a pool and oceanside bar. It is a great place for all ages. Full concierge service provided by Pura Vida Property Luxury Rentals at the Ibis at the Beach condominium across the street from the Club. Tamarindo features over 50 restaurants that range from local food to great BBQ and pizza all the way to exceptionally fine dining. All of this is in a casual beach atmosphere so leave the dressy clothes at home. We can arrange an almost endless number of outdoor and water activities including surfing, sailing, snorkeling, zip lining, wildlife estuary tours, horseback riding, Quad (ATV) tours, volcano visits, world class sport fishing and many more. This is also a great place to just kick back and relax. Read a book at pool side or on the beach. In Costa Rica, we call it Pura Vida, the good life.

Cancellation / Prepayment

50% of the rent is due at contract and the other 50% is due 30 days prior to arrival. A refundable security deposit is also required 30 days prior to arrival. Cancellations except for Christmas, New Year’s and Easter will result in a full refund if requested within 90 days of arrival. Cancellations after that will forfeit the amount paid to date. Holiday bookings are non-refundable. Any forfeited funds will be applied to a future stay at any of our properties.

In the heart of Guanacaste’s Gold Coast is the seaside town of Tamarindo, a small village that has been known for decades to surfers and sophisticated travelers alike as the embodiment of “pura vida” or the “pure life”. Tamarindo is about casual, leisurely lunches by the sea, surfers bicycling towards the beach holding their boards, colorful signs pointing gaily to local shops and restaurants and a stroll from a bustling town out to a promontory to listen to the waves and watch the spectacular sunsets over the Pacific.

Sports and nature

Sports and natureThis is the perfect place to learn how to surf. Playa Tamarindo is a long beach, with excellent waves near the mouth of the estuary. Currents can be strong, especially on a falling tide. Tamarindo has two main breaks for advanced surfers: Pico Pequeño a rocky point in front of the Hotel Tamarindo Diriá and the excellent river mouth break across from Cabinas Tsunami called El Estero. The rest of the beach breaks are perfect for learning. The biggest waves can get up to 12 feet, although only during November and December. There are other eco-friendly activities including watching turtles during their nesting season at night, diving, snorkeling, body surfing, zip-lining, estuary trips, horseback riding and fishing. During the December to April period when the water turbidity is low, fishing may be done from the shore.
