General

Casa Colibri  52-2 is located on the Point in Tamarindo Preserve. The Point is the dividing point between the thick sand, lava rock and spectacular sunsets of Langosta Beach and the smooth white sand and harbor of Tamarindo beach. You are just a few minutes walk from either beach. You can also take a 5 minute walk on the beach to the Langosta Beach Club where you will enjoy full membership privileges during your stay. The club includes a complete fitness center, exercise classes including palates and yoga, a large infinity edge pool overlooking the most family friendly beach in the area, a new French restaurant, the sunset bar and private cabanas. Pura Vida Luxury Rentals offers full Concierge services.

The home offers the best of everything and was professionally decorated. The solid teak ceilings and white stucco walls are in beautiful contrast to the travertine limestone floors. All of the doors, window surrounds and cabinetry are plantation grown teak. The appliances are Bosch and the kitchenware is supplied by Williams-Sonoma. We have flat screen TV’s in both the great room and master bedroom. There is a whole house audio system with speakers and individual volume controls in every room. Of course we have high speed wireless internet.

This is the only home in Tamarindo Preserve with a fully fenced in pool so it is especially child friendly. The covered outdoor dining area seats 4 and features a Vermont Casting gas grill.

There are an endless number of outdoor activities available in Tamarindo and the community features over 50 restaurants including 5 that I would call world class. You will be located just 5 minutes from the Hotel Capitan Suizo and their excellent beach front restaurant. This is an ideal home as your luxury base for exploring the area or the perfect home to just lay back and chill out.

Tamarindo

Tamarindo

In the heart of Guanacaste’s Gold Coast is the seaside town of Tamarindo, a small village that has been known for decades to surfers and sophisticated travelers alike as the embodiment of “pura vida” or the “pure life”. Tamarindo is about casual, leisurely lunches by the sea, surfers bicycling towards the beach holding their boards, colorful signs pointing gaily to local shops and restaurants and a stroll from a bustling town out to a promontory to listen to the waves and watch the spectacular sunsets over the Pacific.

Sports and nature

Sports and natureThis is the perfect place to learn how to surf. Playa Tamarindo is a long beach, with excellent waves near the mouth of the estuary. Currents can be strong, especially on a falling tide. Tamarindo has two main breaks for advanced surfers: Pico Pequeño a rocky point in front of the Hotel Tamarindo Diriá and the excellent river mouth break across from Cabinas Tsunami called El Estero. The rest of the beach breaks are perfect for learning. The biggest waves can get up to 12 feet, although only during November and December. There are other eco-friendly activities including watching turtles during their nesting season at night, diving, snorkeling, body surfing, zip-lining, estuary trips, horseback riding and fishing. During the December to April period when the water turbidity is low, fishing may be done from the shore.
